Silas Hedley-Lawrence

Silas Hedley-Lawrence is a regenerative farmer, coach, and systems thinker working at the forefront of a new approach to agriculture—one that places soil, people, and profitability on equal footing. Through his work with The Grassfed Farmer, Silas supports farmers in building resilient, context-specific systems, helping to unlock the full potential of their land and businesses.

With over fifteen years of experience across the agricultural sector, Silas combines practical farming knowledge with a deep understanding of agroecological systems. His journey began on a family dairy farm and kiwifruit orchards in New Zealand, before moving to the UK where he has managed a range of farming enterprises and contributed to pioneering grazing research at FAI Farms. Today, alongside his own farming in the Cotswolds, he works with clients across diverse sectors—from arable and horticulture to livestock and vineyards—always with a soil-centric approach at the core.

Silas’s work is grounded in both science and lived experience. Influenced by leading thinkers in regenerative agriculture and trained in advanced systems thinking, he brings together microbiology, plant physiology, and practical management with a strong emphasis on mindset and behaviour change. For Silas, true regeneration goes beyond the farm gate—it is about reconnecting people to the land, fostering collaboration, and creating thriving agricultural communities.

Driven by a bold vision to support landscape-scale regeneration, Silas is part of a growing movement reshaping the future of farming—one rooted in resilience, adaptability, and long-term thinking.
