The Film

Through the voices of farmers, historians, conservationists, and local people, the film reveals how centuries of working the land have shaped the hills, fields, and villages we see today. As the seasons turn, it explores the challenges facing rural life — from changing farming practices to environmental pressures — while celebrating those who are working to care for the land and keep its traditions alive.

Production Update 🎬

Filming & Post Production is now complete!

With over a year of filming across the Cotswolds, Field & Folk has now completed post-production. With editing, sound design, and colour grade finished, the film is ready to begin its journey beyond the fields and farms where it was first captured. We are now submitting Field & Folk to film festivals and hope to hold our premiere before July 2026. Alongside this, we’re preparing a brand new official trailer and poster as we begin introducing the film to wider audiences. Along the way, we’ll continue sharing behind-the-scenes moments, stills, and stories from the remarkable people who helped bring Field & Folk to life.

Stay tuned as Field & Folk continues its journey from the Cotswolds to the big screen.

Schools Tour

Alongside the completion of Field & Folk, we have begun sharing a special schools edit — a 20-minute version of the documentary currently touring secondary schools across the Cotswolds.

This forms part of a Cotswolds National Landscape (CNL) led schools outreach programme, designed to engage young people with the landscapes around them and spark conversations about the future of farming and the countryside. The programme has been organised by Helen Komor and Alana Hopkins, bringing the film into schools including The Cotswold School, Burford School, Chipping Campden School, Bredon Hill Academy, and Leckhampton School.

Screenings are accompanied by panel discussions featuring voices from the film, including director Tea, shepherdess Abby, young farmer Lucy, Glorious Cotswold Grasslands Tom and Cotswolds National Landscape Climate Action Co-ordinator Alice.

The response from students has been incredibly encouraging, sparking thoughtful conversations about rural careers, the future of farming, and how the landscape is changing.
